QuantiSpray provides UK-leading spray science expertise.

We help you measure, understand and predict how sprays and airborne materials behave in real-world conditions. Through laboratory testing, field studies and modelling, we deliver robust data for regulation, product development and performance improvement.

Spray (Droplet) Characterisation Lab

We use laser-based systems and bespoke analysis tools to measure droplet size, velocity and spray patterns.

These tests support nozzle development, performance testing and independent classification against international standards.

Spray Drift Research

We use field studies, including tracer-based methods, to measure spray drift, exposure and fate under real-world conditions for ground or aerial application systems.

This work supports model development, risk assessment and development of effective drift mitigation strategies.

Bespoke Research & Development

We work closely with clients to design and deliver tailored research programmes for scientific or regulatory challenges outside standard testing frameworks.

This may include adapting methods or developing new field, laboratory or modelling approaches.

Aerosol, Dust & Particle Testing

Using controlled wind tunnel studies, we  assess the release and movement of aerosols, dusts and bioaerosols, supporting understanding of airborne transport and dispersion characteristics.

Surface Behaviour Studies

Using imaging and measurement techniques, we analyse how sprays behave on surfaces and plants, including coverage, spread and pesticide uptake, to evaluate product and application performance under controlled and field conditions.

Airborne Spray, Aerosol & Particle Modelling

We use experimental data and modelling tools, including BREAM2, to conduct regulatory bystander and resident exposure assessments for people, wildlife and plants.

We also model spray drift and mitigation requirements for regulatory use where field testing is impractical or costly.

LERAP Equipment Accreditation

The UK's Only HSE-Accredited LERAP Laboratory

QuantiSpray is the only laboratory in the UK accredited by the HSE to review spray drift data for LERAP equipment applications.

We assess field and wind tunnel data against LERAP requirements and provide recommendations to support the award of LERAP-Low Drift Star Ratings, using the principles of ISO 17025.

We also collaborate with GLP-licensed organisations on joint studies, providing specialist testing expertise for regulatory applications.

Testimonials

The team at QuantiSpray are extremely knowledgeable, flexible and easy to work with. They offer exceptional support and data we can trust to strengthen our regulatory submissions. Their expertise in spray modelling helps us interpret complex exposure data and make practical decisions when developing new nozzles.

Harry Fordham,

Syngenta

As a leading manufacturer of complementary chemistry for agricultural inputs, having access to a UK-based team and laboratories significantly reduces development times for us at De Sangosse Ltd.

The interaction between nozzle choice, spray pressure, water volume, forward speed and our adjuvant technology is an incredibly complex area of science. If you then want to add into the mix complex crop protection mixing, then QuantiSpray is the only place we trust. When we're presented with a new development challenge, I have complete confidence in Christine O'Sullivan and her laboratory team in Silsoe to translate that complexity into practical, meaningful results.

In many cases, the best ideas simply emerge from a round-table discussion. Drawing on years of experimental knowledge and experience, Christine and Clare Butler-Ellis are able to move projects forward quickly with professionalism, enthusiasm and a clear focus on finding workable solutions.

It's this solutions-led approach that I believe also makes them such valuable partners to the wider international De Sangosse Group, supporting innovation projects and helping to deliver new technologies for agriculture around the world.
